Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas everyone! We had a lot of fun spending time with our families in the past week. We started off celebrating Christmas with my immediate family & grandparents on my Dad's side on Saturday Dec 20 & we also celebrated mine & my sister Jen's birthdays... today is actually Jen's birthday - HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY JEN!!! Our parents bought us a cake & we opened birthday gifts before we opened the Christmas gifts. Little baby Molle received some cute baby gifts - the pictures are posted below. The next Christmas celebration was on Sunday Dec 21st at my grandparents house. We spent time with my immediate family again as well as my Aunt Sue, Uncle Gale & cousins Lisa & Brad. We had a good time enjoying the company & good food. Then on Christmas Eve we had dinner at my parents house and went to the evening Christmas mass with them. We spent Christmas day at Jason's parents house in Burlington. We opened up presents, had delicious lasagna for lunch & dinner, and watched "The Bee Movie" (well, some of us napped though the movie - hehe!!). Overall, we had a great time spending Christmas with our loved ones. I'm looking forward to the next Christmas when our little one can celebrate the festivities with us.

In baby news, I'm now in week 15 and feeling great! Besides my expanding belly, I don't really have any other symptoms. I'll probably post another belly picture in the next couple of weeks. And in case you are wondering, my baby is the size of an apple this week. How exciting!!

Enjoy the following pictures from Christmas:

My sister Jen made me this picture for my birthday - she's so crafty with her scrapbooking - thanks Jen, I think it's adorable (I love that you included our cat Mollie!!).

Monthly Baby Checkup

I had my monthly checkup this afternoon and am happy to report that everything is going well. My doctor explained that all my blood work came back fine & my pap and urinalysis were fine as well. She checked the baby's heartbeat and it's 160 bpm which is good. That's about all that happened at the visit, it was a very quick appointment. My next checkup is Jan 14, and after that visit we'll have our Feb 4 ultrasound visit where we'll find out the baby's gender... we're so anxious for that day to get here!!!

Here's a picture of me at 14 weeks & 1 day. My bump is definitely growing :)

13 Weeks!

I knew I'd be bad at keeping up with the updates!! Nothing much new is going on with the pregnancy so there isn't much to report. Next week Wednesday the 17th I have my monthly check-up, so I promise to post another message after that visit to let you know how the baby's doing. This past week I've noticed my belly getting a little bigger each day. I'm still in regular tops but have been wearing maternity pants for the last few weeks already.

This next week is our birthday week - Jason turns 30!!! on Monday December 15 and I turn 28 on Saturday December 20. We didn't really plan anything for our birthdays but maybe we'll go out to dinner one night next week to celebrate! Also, next weekend we are celebrating Christmas at my parents on the 20th and Christmas at my grandparents on the 21st since my sister Jen & brother-in-law Jeremy will be in town (they live in Chippewa Falls, WI). My other sister Jolene and her boyfriend Tommy will also be traveling from Oshkosh for the weekend festivities.

Tonight we're headed to Claim Jumper in Brookfield to have dinner with some of our dinner club friends, it should be a fun time! Tomorrow we plan on relaxing around the house watching football and Jason's parents might be stopping by to give Jason his birthday gift.

That's about all that is going on with us right now. I'll be posting another message on the 17th, I promise.

Have a great weekend!

11 Weeks!

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted a message. Today I am at 11 weeks & 5 days and on Tuesday I will be starting my second trimester. It's crazy to think that I'm over 1/4 of the way through my pregnancy. It still feels like a long time until June!! This past week I've been feeling fine, just a little tired but that's nothing new. I'm hopeful that I will have more energy in the 2nd trimester.

Last Thursday Jason & I hosted Thanksgiving at our house. Of course I did not do it alone and received much needed help from my Mom & Mother-in-law (THANKS!!). We had a great time & I was able to share the exciting news with my grandparents on my dad's side & they were thrilled for us. This will be their first great grandchild & the baby is actually due the day after my grandpa's birthday (I told him that I have a feeling the baby will actually be born on his birthday)!! I also shared the news with my Godparents Sue & Gale as well as my cousins Lisa & Brad. They are very excited and my Aunt Sue and I shared some tears when I made the announcement. My mom also told her siblings & parents, it was fun to hear their reactions. My grandma on my mom's side said "Did I hear you right?" It was so cute!

Here's a picture of me at 11 weeks & 5 days. As you can see, I'm starting to get the "baby bump"!

Have a great week!

Baby's first pictures!!

Jason & I met with our OB Dr. Tousignant for the first time today. She informed us that everything looks good. Based on her measurements of our baby, she adjusted the due date to 6/16/09 (only 5 days sooner than the original due date). She also informed me that she won't let me go past 41 weeks so the latest I would have the baby if I need to be induced is 6/23/09. It's crazy to think that we'll have a new addition to our family even before we have lived in our house for a complete year (we moved into this house on July 7, 2008). At this visit she did an ultrasound and we got to see our little one for the very first time. At first the baby wasn't moving (must have been napping), but we could see the heartbeat. After a little bit, the baby was moving his/her arms around!! I think the baby was waiving "hi" to us! We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat, it was 165 bpm which the dr. said is a very normal number. I didn't think I would get so emotional, but I couldn't hold back the tears when I heard the beautiful sound of our baby's heartbeat.

Below our some pictures from the ultrasound. I hope you enjoy them!

The above picture shows the heartbeat!

Our next ultrasound will be on 2/4/09 and that is when we will find out if we are having a boy or girl. Also, Dr. Tousignant assured us that there is only one baby, so no twins for us!

Have a good night!

8 Weeks!

Yesterday was the beginning of my 8th week of pregnancy. This week the baby's length is 0.50 inches & weighs about 1 gram... So tiny!!! This week the babies external ears, optic nerve & eyelids are all developing. By this coming weekend, the baby's arms & legs will be moving & would be visible on an ultrasound & it will also be possible to hear the baby's heartbeat via doppler. It's still surreal that there is baby growing inside me. There was a great sale on maternity clothes yesterday so even though I don't need larger clothes yet, I decided to buy a few tops so I'm ready. My pants are getting tighter this week but I don't think it's time to buy maternity pants yet. I'll probably wait a few more weeks before I buy those. I still don't have any morning sickness & I feel very lucky! I'm still tired and making frequent trips to the bathroom. I'm usually up 3 times in the middle of the night!! I read that this gets better in the 2nd trimester so I'm looking forward to that.

This past weekend we were in Oshkosh for Lisa & Justin's wedding. We traveled with Jason's parents & we all had a great time. My favorite part of the reception was when Lisa played her violin with the dueling pianos to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". She's an amazing violinist & was a beautiful bride. Below are a few pictures from the wedding & reception.
The first visit to my new OB doctor is next week Tuesday November 18. I promise that I will post an update after that visit to let you know how things are going. I'm so excited and can't wait until the appointment on the 18th!

Have a good week!

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday we had trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. I counted 55 kids came to our door. I thought there would be a lot more kids so needless-to-say we have a ton of leftover candy! Afterwards we went to the Blaha's house & got to hang out with our dinner club friends. It was nice to see everyone.

This week I have had more energy during the day, which really helps for work. However, I end up falling asleep watching TV with Jason around 8PM. I might as well get my sleep now because when the baby comes I'm sure the peaceful nights will end. I'm looking forward to it though!

The picture below was taken two weekends ago at The Machine Shed. We surprised our parents by giving them "grandparent" picture frames with the caption in the middle saying - Coming Soon, Baby Molle, June 2009. Our parents were in tears & it was the best reaction I could have asked for.

I'm going to try and post a message at least once a week and I'll wait to post more pictures of myself until I start showing. I hope you enjoy the blog!

It's official!

I had a doctor visit on Thursday Oct 23 to confirm that I am pregnant! My estimated due date is June 21, 2009. Jason & I are thrilled with the news & our family is excited as well. I'm feeling pretty good, however I am quite tired lately & need to take frequent trips to the bathroom. Luckily I don't have any morning sickness yet!

I thought I would post a picture of what I look like at 5 weeks & 5 days. It will be interesting to see how my body changes over the next 8 months of pregnancy.
